Customer Service Representative

Location: Middle River, MD

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch)

Employment Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire

Compensation: $17-$19/hour DOE


About the Role

A logistics organization is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to support its Baltimore team with administrative responsibilities and daily customer interaction. This individual will coordinate delivery schedules, manage customer inquiries, support order management, and provide operational support to internal teams to ensure accurate, efficient workflow.

Candidates should have strong administrative capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage inbound and outbound calls for scheduling, updates, and customer inquiries.
  • Support daily customer service workflows, including account updates and client-specific requirements.
  • Complete daily pre-calls and follow up on unresolved issues.
  • Assist drivers and field staff with delivery-related questions and time-sensitive concerns.
  • Monitor shared voicemail and respond promptly and professionally.
  • Enter and retrieve information in internal systems and databases.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external customers.
  • Coordinate with other departments to support smooth and accurate operations.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy, organization, and service quality.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications

  • Strong administrative background with excellent attention to detail.
  • Professional customer service skills, including strong phone communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook and Excel.
  • Experience with order management systems preferred.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced logistics environment.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a positive, coachable attitude.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of customer service or administrative experience, ideally in logistics.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.

Work Environment

This role operates primarily in an office setting, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and scanners. The position may work near warehouse or operational areas, where safety protocols must be followed.
